In honor of our own Gary Schrank's birthday this week (March 2nd), we have included a few tidbits that we hope you enjoy.
Gary insists that this really was 1st grade, however, we tend to believe that it was drawn at Curly's Pub after a game, as it appears to be on a cocktail napkin...

Well, I guess I’m Busted.
I don’t know how you found out that I am the spiritual link between today’s Packers and “St. Vince”. But now that you found out, you might as well know the rest of the story.
You see, when I was a young boy, my father took me to Lambeau for my first Packer game. It just happened to be the ice bowl of 1967 and the Pack was playing the hated Cowboys for the NFC Championship. Bitter cold temps and strong winds put the wind chill at 30 degrees below.
Late in the 4th quarter the Cowboys were in the lead 14-10. The Packers were driving for the winning score but were bogged down on the 1 yard line. Two running plays failed to get them in the end zone. Bart Starr called a timeout with 15 seconds left and went over to Mr. Lombardi to talk…no more timeouts left…one last play.
Well, as they were discussing what to do, I jumped up and yelled “Hey coach, have Bart sneak it to the right following Jerry Kramer’s block”. Both there heads turned to look at me, then they looked at each other and nodded. Well, the rest you know, Bart scored and the Pack won 17-14.
Now every year prior to the start of the season I get a call from the Packer organization asking me to channel into Mr. Lombardi’s spirit for the secrets that will lead the Packers to another Championship.
As you know, Vince is a strong Catholic man and in return for my helping the Packers he is always willing to help me when I ask…hence his endorsement of our Saturday morning Men’s Group.
Now you know the rest of the story.
Gary
PS—I won’t be able to make it to this Saturday’s meeting as I will be in San Diego for the weekend.
Okay... although he was not at the Saturday
morning meeting,
the cake ferry showed up with a birthday cake and this note...
Good Morning Men of Epiphany—
Sorry I can’t be with you this morning, but since it was my Birthday Tuesday I thought I should still bring a Birthday treat for you to enjoy.
The picture below was taken just before I went down on the field to give the Pack a motivational pep talk before the start of last year’s Seattle game….I do that from time to time.
Now if you would, I’d like the group to sing Happy Birthday prior to you digging into the cake. Fr. Jose, would you please lead the group in singing?
Happy Birthday to you…………..don’t for get Charlie too!!!
Wish I was there with you.
